Megastructure Reloaded
As its name implies, Megastructure Reloaded presents the concepts, visual art, and architecture of the mega project proposals of the 1960s. What makes this book appealing is that, in addition to the documentation of these projects, there is a reintroduction of all relevant 1960s research and ideas. These projects’ representation in the book revitalizes many of our current concerns, which include overpopulation, diminishing natural resources, climate catastrophes, participation, and the entwining of sociopolitical and ideological ideas with urban development. The book is organized into several essay-like chapters that do not necessarily reference each other, which makes it easy to read and reread in parts.
